Actually, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to remove Azhar Mahmood from the post of interim coach of the Test team. But he is not able to do so due to his contract with the previous management of the board. A source close to the PCB told PTI that if Mahmood is released before his contract ends, the PCB will have to pay for six months salary. This amount is about 45 crore Pakistan rupees (13.60 crore Indian rupees).

The source said, ‘This is why PCB has recently appointed him the interim head coach of the National Test team. Mahmud’s contract is ending in April-May next year. Let me tell you, Azhar Mahmood is getting a salary of about 75 lakh Pakistani rupees from the Pakistan Cricket Board every month.

Why does Azhar want to remove Mahmood PCB

Actually, Pakistan’s white ball cricket head coach Mike Hessen made it clear that he needs a sports staff according to him and Mahmood is not involved in his choice. This led to a big problem in front of the PCB that how to use Mahmud’s expertise so that it can be appropriate to give them such a hefty amount.
