His statement has caused a stir in Pakistan cricket. Gary Kirsten was appointed as the head coach of Pakistan’s white ball team in April 2024. However, he left the post within 6 months. There was a lot of ruckus about this and questions were raised on the Pakistani board. Kirsten has now revealed that he himself got upset with the coaching of Pakistan team.

Gary Kirsten while talking to Wisden said, ‘It was a few months very bad. I understood that I will not be able to make much impact on the team. Once I was removed from selection and the team was asked to choose and was not able to shape the team, it became very difficult to make any positive impact in the team as a coach.
Kirsten may have resigned from the head coach of Pakistan, but he is still ready for coaching the Pakistan team. He said, ‘If I am called back to Pakistan tomorrow, I will go. But I would like to go for the players and I would like to go under the right circumstances. Cricket teams should be run by cricket people. When this is not happening and when there is a lot of noise from outside, which is a very impressive noise, it is very difficult for the leaders of the team to walk on that journey.
Pakistan team performance in T20 World Cup 2024
In the coaching of Gary Kirsten, the Pakistan team participated in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in which they performed very poorly and could not make their place in the team Super 8. Pakistan team was in Group A and won two matches in four matches while in two they had to face defeat. In this group, the team had to face defeat against India and USA.
