Punjab Kings on Thursday issued a statement and announced a help of about Rs 34 lakh to help the flood victims. Along with this, a campaign to raise money through crowd funding has also been launched.
Punjab Kings donated for flood relief
Punjab Kings released a statement on social media and said that it is joining hands with Hemkund Foundation and RTI, famous to provide relief to the flood victims in the state. The franchise said that in order to spread the relief work as much as possible, it has started the ‘Tugher for Punjab’ campaign with these two organizations. For this, Punjab Kings themselves first announced to donate Rs 33.8 lakh to these organizations.
Due to floods in many villages and cities of Punjab, the situation is very bad and people have to struggle to save cattle as well. The fields are also completely submerged in thousands of acres. At such a time, Punjab Kings have started this campaign. The franchise said that rescue boats will be purchased through this fund, which will be used to evacuate people stranded in flood affected areas and work in medical emergency cases. Apart from this, these funds will also be used to spread the goods and clean water to the affected people.

Attempts to help with crowd funding
Apart from this, Punjab Kings have also started an online crowd funding campaign, through which the franchise has targeted to raise Rs 2 crore by 15 September. The team said that this fund will be given to ‘Global Sikh Charity’, which will be used to provide relief in flood affected areas. Punjab Kings have appealed to their fans and common people to donate in this online funding so that in this situation of disaster, maximum assistance can be provided to the people of the state.
