The tour of England has not started in a good way for Team India and already Test he had to face defeat. But the team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant started showing his strength from the first Test as expected. In both innings of the first Test played in Leeds, Pant had shown his light by scoring a century. But the way Pant celebrated after a century, he entertained the fans but also worried about his safety. Now the veteran doctor who treated Pant has also expressed his concern about this.
Pant scored two centuries in the first Test match played in Leeds. In the first innings of that match played on the field of Headingley, the Indian star scored 134 runs and played an important role in taking Team India to the scoons of 471 runs. During this time, as soon as Pant completed his century, he kept the bat and helmet on the side and showed ‘Samrasault’. His celebrations surprised thousands of spectators and commentators sitting in the headingley. His celebrations became a big hit among the fans.
This was not the first time that Pant showed such acrobatics. Earlier in IPL 2025 too, Pant had celebrated similar celebrations after a century. Even before ‘Samrasault Celebration’, he often used to get up in the same style after hitting the dive during the match. But all this was before his road accident. In December 2022, Pant had a dreadful accident in his car, in which he suffered a dangerous injury to his knees. Due to this, he was away from cricket for a quarter of a year.
Then the doctor who performed Pant’s surgery has also responded to this celebration of the Indian cricketer. Famous surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala described this celebration of Pant as unnecessary in an interview. In an interview to the Telegraph, Pardiwala said, “Rishabh has taken training as a gymnast. Even though he looks very big but he is quite agile and flexible. So nowadays he is doing ‘harmony’. It is a well -practiced move, but is unnecessary.”
Due to the retirement of some senior players in Team India and the problem of fitness of some players, weakness is seen at this time. In such a situation, if a player like Pant also gets injured by accidentally during such celebration, then it can be quite heavy on Team India. This is the reason that former all -rounder Ravichandran Ashwil has also advised Pant to stop from harmony.
