In the sixth match of the second season of Delhi Premier League (DPL), Outer Delhi Warriors performed brilliantly and defeated Old Delhi 6 by 82 runs. In this match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, the deadly bowling of young spinner Suyash Sharma and fast bowler Shaurya Malik destroyed the batting of Old Delhi 6. This year has been quite spectacular for Suyash Sharma. He was part of the RCB team that won the 2025 IPL. Where he bowled very well, his form is also going on in the Delhi Premier League.
RCB bowler Suyash Sharma wreaked havoc
Outer Delhi team made a great start in bowling to defend a minor target of 149 runs. Suyash Sharma demolished the top order of Old Delhi 6 in Powerplay itself. He dismissed Samarth Seth (18), captain Vansh Bedi (1) and Pranav Pant (6) and gave the initial shocks to the opposition team. After this, Shivam Sharma also returned to the pavilion inside the powerplay Aarush Malhotra (5), causing the score of Old Delhi 6 to 31/4 in 6 overs.
The difficulties of Old Delhi did not end here. In the eighth over, the team came under pressure due to the runout of Dev Lakra (5). In the very next over, Shaurya Malik dismissed Yuga Gupta (1) and Eksh Dobal (0) in two consecutive balls and pushed Old Delhi into deep crisis. Shaurya then also brought Ayush Singh (4) to LBW and brought Old Delhi to 50/8. Lalit Yadav (20) struggled for a while, but Suyash Sharma achieved his fourth success by dismissing Rajneesh Dadar (5). Then in the end Harsh Tyagi dismissed Lalit Yadav and covered the innings of Old Delhi 6 for just 66 runs in 14.3 overs. Due to which Outer Delhi registered a huge victory of 82 runs.
Outer Delhi batsmen also did not go
Earlier, Outer Delhi Warriors won the toss and decided to bat first. Opener Priyansh Arya (16) and Sanat Sangwan (26) made an aggressive start and scored fast in the powerplay. But in the sixth over, Rajneesh Dadar dismissed both openers and brought Old Delhi back to the game. After this, the middle order of Outer Delhi collapsed and by the 15th over, the score increased to 108/7. However, Captain Siddhant Sharma (21) and Harsh Tyagi (17) added some important runs in the last over and brought the team to a respectable score. Outer Delhi’s innings managed to score 148 runs in the 20th over.
