Royal Challengers Bangalore created history by winning the IPL 2025 title. In the final played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 3 June 2025, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs to achieve its first IPL Trophy. This victory filled tremendous enthusiasm between fans in Bengaluru and all over Karnataka. But this celebration at SVP Chowk in Kalburgi, Karnataka became uncontrollable when the police had to use force to control the mob.

Fans celebrate on the streets amid victory

After this historic victory of RCB, fans in Kalburgi, Karnataka celebrated on the streets. Hundreds of fans at SVP Chowk were drowned in excitement with drums and slogans of ‘E Sala Cup Namde’. People were celebrating their team’s victory by waving flags and singing songs. Traffic stopped on the roads and the entire area was painted in the color of the festival. Seeing this enthusiasm of the fans, it seemed that this victory is the result of a long wait for them.

However, the festival soon became uncontrolled. The crowd grew and the situation became difficult to handle. The Karnataka police finally had to intervene. In the video that went viral on social media, it was seen that the police used mild force to disperse the mob. Some policemen were seen trying to remove fans with sticks. Many people criticized this action on social media and described it as excessive use of force against peaceful celebrations. However, there was no news of any major injury in this incident.

RCB’s journey of victory

In the final, RCB batted first and scored a score of 190 runs. The team led by captain Rajat Patidar performed brilliantly. In response, the Punjab Kings team missed the target by 6 runs. This victory came after a long wait of 18 years for RCB, as he had lost the finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016. This victory gave a new joy to the fans of not only the team, but the entire Bangalore and Karnataka.
