The Indian cricket team has suffered a major setback amid the ongoing fourth Test match at Old Trafford, Manchester. The Indian team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant left the ground due to injury. The incident took place in the 68th over of the Indian innings, when Pant was facing England fast bowler Chris Woakes. This injury has also increased Indian fans. Let me tell you, Rishabh Pant had to face injuries in the last match of the series.
How did Rishabh Pant get hurt?
In the 68th over of the Indian innings, a sharp yorker ball by Chris Woakes put Pant in trouble. Pant tried to play the reverse-sweep on this ball, but the ball went straight to his foot shoes. After this loud attack, Pant was seen groaning with pain. The physio present on the field immediately examined him, and it was seen that his leg was bleeding. Seeing the seriousness of pain and injury, Pant could not bat further. After this, he was taken out of the ground after sitting in a ground ambulance.
This is not the first time Rishabh Pant has been injured in this series. He also faced an injury in the third Test match. During that match, Jasprit Bumrah’s fast bouncer went on Pant’s finger, due to which he could not do wicketkeeping in the entire match. However, he batted. After which suspense was also made on his playing in Manchester Test. But due to a long gap, he managed to recover.
Retired hurt and went out
When Rishabh Pant got this injury, he was playing 37 runs off 48 balls. He was in a very good rhythm and had hit 2 fours-1 six. But due to this injury, Pant had to retired. That is, he can come back to bat and come back to bat. But how serious his injury is, for this, the update of BCCI will have to wait.
