Between IPL 2025, Rohit Sharma surprised everyone by retiring from Test cricket. Now he will be seen playing only in ODI cricket, because he has retired before T20I. However, even after the crushing defeat in Australia tour, Rohit Sharma had no intention of retirement from the Test. He had said that he would continue to play Test cricket right now, but during the IPL, he took retirement and put his father as well as everyone. This has been revealed by Rohit Sharma himself. Rohit says that his father does not like today’s cricket at all.
My father likes Test cricket

Rohit Sharma said on the occasion of the release of ‘The Diary of Cricketers Wife’ by Pooja Pujara, wife of Cheteshwar Pujara, “My father is very sad with my decision to retire from Test cricket”. This veteran batsman said, “I still remember when I scored 264 runs in ODIs, my father did not show any curiosity and only said that Welden, well played”, but his thinking about Test cricket is completely different. He did not like the fast cricket of today.
Used to talk more on Test cricket
Rohit Sharma said that when I scored 30 runs, 40 runs, 50 runs or 60 runs in Test cricket, he used to talk to me a lot about my innings. This was his love in Test cricket.
