Former New Zealand veteran cricketer Ross Taylor has withdrawn his retirement after four years. Now he will be seen playing cricket again, but this time he will debut not from New Zealand but for any other country. For this, he has left New Zealand. Cricket fans have been shocked by this decision of Ross Taylor, who scored 40 centuries in international cricket by the Kiwi team. Former New Zealand captain Ross Taylor will now be seen playing for Samoa. This 41 -year -old player informed this to his fans through social media.
What did Ross Taylor say?
After withdrawing his retirement, Ross Taylor has posted his photo on social media with Samoa cricket team jersey. During this time he wrote, “This is official- I am proud to announce that I will represent Samoa in cricket wearing a blue jersey. It is not just a return to the game that I love, but to represent my heritage, culture, villages and family is a great respect for me. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to give some back, join the game and share my experiences inside the field.”
Ross Taylor will try to qualify the Samoa cricket team for the next year’s T20I World Cup. During this, he said that I always wanted to contribute to this team in some form or the other, but I did not know that I would contribute as a game. I always thought that I will coach the youth and donate a cricket kit wherever possible, but I am eagerly waiting to join the sports world.
Ross Taylor will be seen in the field from October
Ross Taylor, a member of the first ICC World Test Championship team, will participate in the World Cup Asia-Pacific qualifying series to be held in Oman in October. Samoa will play the match against the host country and Papua New Guinea in Group-3.
The qualifying tournament consists of three groups of three teams, each of which reach the top two teams in the super six. This tournament will determine the top three teams that will confirm their place in the next year’s T20I World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
