Just before the Asia Cup 2025, Team India’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson is showing his bat. Since the announcement of Team India for the Asia Cup, the question has arisen whether Samson will have to vacate his place for the new vice-captain Shubman Gill in the opening. This decision is to be taken to coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav but Samson is constantly presenting his claim. Prior to the tournament, Samson has created a panic in the Kerala Cricket League and has scored a big score in the third consecutive match.
On Thursday 28 August, the 15th match of Kerala Cricket League led to a competition of Kochi Blue Tigers and Trivandrum Royals. In this, Kochi batted first and for her once again, Sanju Samson, who landed in the opening, blown away the bowlers. Samson opened with Vinup Manharan and both these batsmen bombed Trivandrum. Manoharan could not complete his half -century and was dismissed for 42 runs in 26 balls but Samson did not make this mistake.
Right -arm explosive batsman Samson completed his half -century in just 31 balls in the 12th over. He hit 2 sixes in this over and then scored a half -century with a run. Samson finally was out in the 15th over but by then he had shown his light. Samson scored 62 runs in 37 balls, including 5 sixes and 4 fours. In this way, Samson scored more than 50 in the third consecutive match within just 5 days. Earlier, he scored 121 runs on Sunday 24 August and then on Tuesday 26 August also scored 89 runs.
These innings of Samson have made the verdict difficult for Team India Management and especially coach Gambhir. After getting Shubman Gill in the Asia Cup team and especially the vice-captains are made, the same speculation is being made that he can be made the opener. Since then Samson started the KCL in the middle order, so that he can present his claim for this role in Team India, but now it seems that Samson is determined to compete for his opening role and Team India’s headache has increased after his performance.
