Mark Bachar said during the Edgbaston Test that if Shubman Gill had won the toss and he would have chosen the fielding first, then this would have been the last match of his career as a captain. Ravi Shastri said during the commentary in the Edgbaston Test that England first chose bowling, if Shubman Gill had taken this decision which he had said after losing the toss, he also said that he wanted to field first. After this, Bachar said that he would be the last match of Gill as captain.
