Sourav Ganguly’s big statement on Gill
Shubman Gill has scored three centuries (including a double century) in two Tests under his first Test captaincy in England and he has scored 585 runs. At the same time, Sourav Ganguly warned Gill and said, ‘This is unprecedented. I hope his career will take a new direction and I believe that he is a middle order batsman. He has become captain right now, it is a honeymoon period. But there will be more pressure over time. Pressure will increase in the next three Tests.

Ganguly warned that India would have to start afresh in Lord’s despite its loud victory. Ganguly said, ‘This is just a par. There are still three matches left. India has played well, and is playing well. He may have lost in the headingley, but he played well. But then, you have to start afresh in the next match (Lords).
