Shubman Gill was given the command of the Indian Test team after Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket. After becoming the captain, Gill is raining runs with the bat. After scoring a brilliant century in the first Test match against England, the Indian captain created history in the second Test match. On the second day of the Edgbaston Test match, he destroyed several records by hitting a brilliant double century. Gill has scored a double century in Test cricket for the first time. Apart from this, he is the first Indian captain to score a double century in England. Despite this brilliant innings of Gill, his father has said such a thing on the phone, which has surprised Gill. He has disclosed this during an interview.
Gill’s father message
After the second day of Edgbaston Test match ended, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) conducted an interview of Shubman Gill. During this, Gill read the message of his parents. Gill revealed that his parents have a malaise to not be able to install triple century. BCCI has shared the video of Shubman Gill on social media. In the message, his father Lakhwinder Singh said, “Son played very well, it was fun to see your batting today. I started seeing today’s innings as I used to play from Under-16 to Under-19. I feel very proud”.
Gill’s mother said that it was very nice son to see your batting. Keep moving forward like this, good luck to you. Shubman Gill was happy to see this message. He said that this message matters a lot to me. I play cricket for my father, but my father has a sorrow that I missed triple century. He has expressed its grief in the message.

Shubman Gill played brilliant innings
Shubman Gill played the best innings of his career in Edgbaston Test. Gill played very poor shots in this innings. He not only scored his runs but he also made important partnerships with his fellow players. Karun Nair, his partnership with Rishabh Pant was over 50 runs but along with Ravindra Jadeja, he added more than 200 runs, due to which the Indian team managed to reach 500. Team India has scored 587 runs in their first innings. In response, three wickets have fallen for 77 runs in England’s first innings.
