In the third Test match played at Lord’s Stadium in London, England won against Team India. However, after the end of the match, the England team has suffered a major setback. The ICC has imposed a big fine on him. Not only this, England’s two points have been cut despite winning the third Test against India. Former England captain Michael Vaughan is not happy with this thing and he has questioned the ICC. Not only this, he has accused Team India that the mistake was of both teams but only England got the punishment.

Michael von’s tweet

Michael Vaughan tweeted, ‘Telling the truth, both teams had blinds in the Lord’s but only one team was punished. This is beyond my comprehension. The International Cricket Council has taken strict action against the England team due to the slow over rate in Lord’s Test. Ben Stokes & Co. has been fined 10 percent of the match fees and along with two points of the World Test Championships have also been deducted.

Not only this, the England team has come down to third place in the points table. Sri Lanka is second in this list while Australia has confirmed the top space. He defeated the West Indies 3–0 in the Test series and the team has 36 points while he has 100 point percent. Talking about India, it is at number four in this list.

Violation of code of conduct

The ICC said that this fine on England has been imposed under Section 2.22 of the Code of Conduct. According to the rule, if the team does not complete the bowling within the stipulated time, 5% of the match fee is imposed for each over. England captain Ben Stokes accepted the allegation of slow over rate and due to this he did not require hearing.
