How the pride of a team is broken, it can be learned from the Indian cricket team full of youth. Team India, who shattered the Gurur of Australia in Gaba about four and a half years ago, has now shown the mirror to England. In the second Test match played at Edgbaston, young and less experienced team captained by Shubman Gill defeated hosts England by a huge margin of 336 runs. With this, Team India won the first time on the grounds of Edgbaston after a long wait of 58 years. Also, Team India’s account opened under the captaincy of Gill.
Team India played a Test match for the first time in 1967 at Edgbaston Ground in Birmingham, but since then it had never won before this match of 2025. Team India lost 7 out of 8 matches played on this ground, while in 1986 a Test draw was drawn. Despite big stars, veteran players and dhakad captains, Team India Edgbaston’s fort did not distinguish. But without the new captain Shubman Gill and many stars, Team India came out in this match. This victory brought back memories of Team India’s victory against Australia in 2021 in Brisbane.
