Tendulkar Anderson Trophy : England’s famous fast bowler James Anderson is delighted to name the India vs England Test series. James Anderson says that the Test series between India and England is being named after him and Sachin, which is a great honor. The series begins on June 23. So far the India vs England series was known as the Pataudi Trophy, but now it will be known as the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. The England and Wales Cricket Board – the ECB and the Indian Cricket Board, the BCCI, have jointly decided that the trophy will be named after the two legends. Although the India vs. England Test series was known as the Pataudi Trophy, the last time the series was played, it was named Anthony de Meo Trophy, because he was the founding member of the BCCI and the first secretary and chairman of the board.
Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson will officially unveil the new trophy during the World Test Championship (WTC) final, which will begin on June 5 at the Lord’s. This change has come just before the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. Talking to ESPNCricinfo at Lord’s, Anderson said, ‘This is a great honor. I still can’t trust. Sachin is the one whom I think is ideal from an early age. I remember seeing him, he was a legend in the game world. I have played many times as his opponent. So having my name in this trophy is a great honor for me and I’m so proud of it.
