Terror Threat Hits IPL 2025 : The shadow of increasing tensions between India and Pakistan is now approaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. DDCA Confirms Threat, Police Begin Investigation

The DDCA acknowledged to receive the threatening and email and confirmed that the matter was reported to the police of Delhi, who began an investigation and conducted a preliminary security inspection at the stadium.

“Yes, we received a threat email this morning. We already referred them to the police in Delhi. They started their investigation and visited the stadium for inspection,” a DDCA employee told The Times of India.

The threat email also mentioned the activation of several sleeping cells in India, claiming that they would respond to Operation Sindoor – India’s military response to Pahalgam’s recent terrorist attack.

IPL 2025 Temporarily Suspended Amid Security Concerns

Earlier on Friday, the BCCI decided to suspend IPL 2025 for a week, referring to national security issues following the recent terrorist incidents and military escalation with Pakistan. The suspension came after Thursday’s match in Dharamsala between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off midway because of Air Raid Alerts in Jammu and the Pathankot regions.
