There have been few players in Indian cricket, whose life and career story has been put on the film screen. A few years ago, a film came on veteran cricketer Mithali Raj. Before that, hardly anyone will forget the film on former captain MS Dhoni. Sachin Tendulkar also had a documentary film. Now the story of another Indian cricketer will be seen by the fans, which did not get success like these three veterans but the story of ups and downs is no less than anyone. These cricketers are- Unmukt Chand.

At one time, a documentary film is going to come soon on Unmukt Chand, who is counted among the emerging stars of Indian cricket. The teaser of this film was released on Thursday 31 July. The name of this documentary is ‘Unbroken: The Unmukt Chand Story’. The 40-second teaser started with the final of the 2012 World Cup, where Unmukt is seen hitting a six against Australia and then picking up the trophy of the Under-19 World Cup.

According to the teaser, it narrates the cricket journey of documentary Unmukt Chand, which has the whole story from winning the Under-19 World Cup to quit Indian cricket. In this, apart from Unmukt, from the eyes of many people and journalists associated with him, the ups and downs of this player’s career have been told. Raghav Khanna is directing the documentary, who also created a documentary on the famous director-producer SS Rajamouli. Unmukt Chand’s documentary will be released in September.

Unmukt Chand, who came from Delhi, made his mark in the entire country in 2012. He was the third captain of India to win the Under-19 World Cup and the second captain from Delhi. Before that, this success was achieved by Virat Kohli (2008). Kohli had left his mark in international cricket by that time and in such a situation it was believed that Unmukt would also do wonders like his senior in Delhi but this could not happen.

Far from coming to Team India, he could never confirm his place in the free IPL. Similarly, he gradually lost his place in the Delhi cricket team. Even in domestic cricket, when the opportunities for him got less, he retired from Indian cricket in 2021 and turned to American cricket. From here, he participated in Australia’s Big Bash League, West Indies’ Caribbean Premier League and then Major League of USA.
