These days, only one name has been the most overshadowed in youth cricket. This name is Vaibhav Suryavanshi. At the age of just 14, this young batsman of India has caught the attention of the whole world with his explosive batting. After a bang entry in IPL 2025, Vaibhav also made many records in England with a rage in youth cricket. But there is also a record that another batsman made before him. These batsmen are 18 -year -old Jorich van Shailvik. This South African batsman has scored the first double century in the history of Youth ODI cricket.
Van Shailvik scored double century
After the under-19 teams of India and England, these days the Youth ODI series is being played between South Africa and Zimbabwe’s Under-19 teams. In Harare, on July 25, in the first ODI of this series, 18 -year -old opener Shailvik showed his bat threatening. The right -handed opener beat up Zimbabwe bowlers as soon as he came to the crease and completed his century in 86 balls.
Van Shailvik again showed what he did not see in the history of Youth ODI cricket. Van Shailvik made history by scoring the first double century in youth ODI cricket in just 145 balls. Shailvik broke the record of Hasita Boyagoda of Sri Lanka, who played the biggest innings of 191 runs in 2018. South Africa’s young stars finally saw the path of the pavilion in the 47th over, but before that, a world record of 215 runs in 153 balls came out with his bat, which included 19 fours and 6 sixes.
Vaibhav got a new challenge
Van Shailvik made a world record, but obviously it will inspire Vaibhav Suryavanshi and he would like to do so as soon as possible. If Vaibhav does wonders, then he will become the youngest batsman to score a double century. Vaibhav recently set a record of the fastest century in the history of Youth ODI cricket. The Indian batsman scored this century in just 52 balls against England. Now their eyes will be on breaking the record of van Shailvik.
