After the defeat in the Leeds Test match, Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah will play only three Test matches in this series. He said that this decision was taken before the series started and there will be no change due to the scorline. Gambhir said, “Which two matches Bumrah will play, it has not been decided yet, but in this series he will play only three matches. We do not want to put much pressure on him.
Earlier, in the presentation ceremony, captain Shubman Gill also said a similar thing about Bumrah. He said that it is decided according to every match. Bumrah shocked five wickets in the first innings
In the first Test match, Bumrah took five wickets in England’s first innings. During this time, if some of his balls were not caught, then the number of wickets would have been more, but in the second innings, Bumrah completely disappointed the team and could not take any wickets. Because of this, the Indian team had to face shameful defeat.
In this Test match, India batted first and scored 471 runs in the first innings. In response, England’s first innings was reduced to 465 runs. In the second innings, Team India could score 364 runs. After this, the England team came out to chase the target of 371 runs and achieved this target by losing 5 wickets.
