Vaibhav Suryavanshi IPL 2025 : The IPL 2025 has unearthed many talents, but none more eye-catching than 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. A name that fans can’t stop talking about, the teenage prodigy has already smashed a century and broken multiple records. But while his bat has been doing the talking on the field, off the field, the young star has found himself at the centre of a bizarre controversy — a viral rumour claiming he failed his Class 10 CBSE board exams.
Let’s set the record straight.
Vaibhav, whom the Rajasthan Royals picked up in the auction for a hefty ₹1.10 crore, didn’t play in the initial matches. But once given a chance against Chennai Super Kings, he made the most of it. And then came the explosive knock against Gujarat Titans — a blistering century off just 35 balls — that not only won the match but also captured the imagination of fans across the country.
Just as the IPL took a brief nine-day pause due to geopolitical tensions, a social media post started making the rounds, claiming that the teenage sensation had failed his Class 10 exams. The post originated from a satire page called Satireology, which read, “The 14-year-old IPL star has reportedly failed his CBSE Class 10 exams.” What many failed to notice was the satirical tone of the rest of the post.
The post even humorously claimed, “BCCI has opted for a DRS review of Vaibhav’s answer sheet. The request is, of course, symbolic. But the conversation around the pressure on young athletes to balance academics and sports is heating up.”
Right at the bottom, in small print, the post clearly stated: “This is not true. Just for fun.” Yet, that didn’t stop the first part from being taken out of context and widely circulated, leading many to believe the fake news was real.
Here’s the actual truth: Vaibhav Suryavanshi is currently a student of Class 8 at Modesty School in Tajpur. He hasn’t even appeared for the Class 10 board exams, let alone failed them.
In the age of viral misinformation, this episode is a reminder of how quickly satire can be misinterpreted, especially when it involves young public figures. Vaibhav, still just a schoolboy, is juggling fame and responsibility at an incredibly young age — and by all accounts, doing it with impressive maturity.
As he gears up for the second phase of the IPL, the focus should remain on his cricketing talent — not on fabricated stories. With the spotlight firmly on him, Vaibhav Suryavanshi represents not just the future of Indian cricket, but also a symbol of what young dreams can achieve when given a chance.
