Sehwag’s elder son Aryveer got a chance in this league for the first time but he had to wait for his debut. Aryveer Sehwag, who was playing for Central Delhi Kings, finally got a chance before the tournament was over but he was dropped only after 2 matches. In the final match of DPL 2025, Central Delhi dropped him out of playing-11. The surprising thing is that Virender Sehwag had also reached to see this final but he did not get a chance to see his son’s amazing.
The final of the Delhi Premier League 2025 season was played on Sunday 31 August, in which Central Delhi Kings competed with West Delhi Lions. In this final, Central Delhi landed for the first batting but like the last two matches, this time Aryveer Sehwag did not land in the opening, but Siddharth June was given a chance. Aryveer had earlier made a league stage debut against East Delhi and scored 26 runs in 16 balls in the first match.
Aryveer had a chance to debut after Yash Dhul left, who left DPL to play in the Dalip Trophy. Aryveer’s first innings raised hope that he would play all the remaining matches. On the basis of the first match, he was given a chance in qualifier-1 but this time he did not bat and he returned to the pavilion after scoring just 1 run in 5 balls. However, still the hope was that he would be given a chance in the final as well and in the title match he could show his batting but it did not happen and he had to sit on the bench and watch this match.
Aryveer’s father Virender Sehwag was also reaching to see this match. Sehwag was appointed as the brand ambassador of this league and that is why he reached the finals. But it was disappointing for him because his son did not get a chance to play. Not only Aryveer, but Sehwag’s younger son Vedanta was also in the West Delhi team and he too did not get a chance to play in this match. However, spinner Vedanta did not get a chance even once in this entire tournament and he was seen only in practice. But in the final, the opportunity to see the competition of both brothers went out of the hands of their father and fans.
