Former India captain Sourav is going to be a biopic on Ganguly. This is revealed by the legendary player himself. Sourav Ganguly has been one of the most successful captains of India and his fan following is also very high in the whole world. Ganguly has revealed that his biopic will start from 2026. Not only this, famous Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao will be seen in the lead role. Rajkummar Rao has worked in many best movies. Now he will be seen giving tremendous performance in this film too.
Biopic may be released in 2026
Talking to PTI, Sourav Ganguly revealed that work on his biopic is going on fast and its shooting will begin in early 2026. The film will play the role of famous actor Rajkumar Rao, Ganguly. Ganguly also told that the shooting of the film will be started as soon as the work on the script and story is completed. Shooting will not take much time, but preparation may take time.
Ganguly has played 113 Test matches for Team India in which he has scored 7212 runs at an average of 42.17. The former Indian captain has 16 centuries and his highest personal score is 239 runs. In ODI cricket, he has scored 11363 runs in 311 matches at an average of 42.02. He has scored 22 centuries. The highest individual score of the legendary player in this format is 183 runs.
BCCI president also played a role
Sourav Ganguly was made the President of BCCI in the year 2019. Ganguly is the second captain who was made the chairman of BCCI. Before him, Maharaj Kumar of Vijayanagar was the first captain who was given the responsibility of this post. Under his chairmanship, Team India was also performing excellent. His three -year term ended in October 2022.
