These days, there is only one name on the tongue of Indian cricket fans- Leeds Test. The first match of the five -Test series between India and the host country at the Headingley Cricket Stadium in the city of Leeds in England is going to start from June 20 at this ground. In such a situation, fans are engaged in checking and understanding the records of this ground. But apart from the figures inside the field, there are some stories related to leads, which are very special and one such anecdote is also of great batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who was stopped by the police while going to Leeds.

This story is not new, but years old. Perhaps more than the age of almost every player present in this squad of Team India. This is the case of 1992 when Sachin Tendulkar was playing county cricket in England and was part of the Yorkshire Cricket Club. Leeds city is part of Yorkshire County. Sachin had revealed this story in an interview and told that once he was stopped by the police while going towards the leads.

Sachin narrated funny anecdote

In a promotional video with Gaurav Kapoor, Sachin narrated this funny anecdote. He told that in 1992, when he was a part of Yorkasher, he went to Nucleus to play an exhibition match. After playing the match, he decided to return to Leeds at night. He was accompanied by former player Jatin Paranjpe. Sachin then got a car from Yorkshire and he was traveling in it.

Sachin said that when he was returning at night, at that time work was going on in many places on the entire road, due to which the speed limit was limited to 50-55 miles per hour. Master Blaster said that due to late night, he decided to walk behind a police car moving ahead of himself so that he would not face any kind of trouble. But shortly after, the policeman gestured him by hand, which Sachin could not understand properly and he intensified the car’s light.

Sachin made this mistake, then narrowly escapes

But then when the policeman gestured to stop, Sachin stopped the car on the side. It was here that the police officer asked Sachin whether he did not understand the earlier gesture? Sachin said that he felt that he had been asked to speed up the light. On this, the policeman told that he was telling them with a gesture of the hand that the speed limit was 50 miles per hour, while he was running at a speed of 60 miles per hour. Here Sachin realized that the speed of the police car was fast and he had crossed the speed limit due to following it.

Sachin explained his mistake to the policeman and also gave the reason for this. Then the policeman saw the logo of Yorkshire County Cricket in the car and asked Sachin about it. Sachin told his name and said that he got the car from the club. Then the policeman asked if he is the first foreign player of Yorkshire? When Sachin responded to this in ‘yes’, the policeman left him with just one warning. In this way Sachin survived any kind of fine.
