PM Modi congratulated Cheteshwar Pujara for a great cricket career and best wishes. PM Modi wrote, ‘I came to know about your decision to retire from all the formats of cricket. After the announcement, there has been a wave of appreciation from the fans and the cricket world about your achievements. I congratulate and best wishes for a brilliant cricket career.
PM Modi further wrote, ‘In the dominated era of the small format of cricket, you reminded me of the beauty of the long format of the game. The ability to bat for a long time with your nature and more concentration made you the basis of Indian batting order. Your excellent cricket career is full of remarkable skills and moments of resolution, especially in challenging situations abroad. For example, fans will always remember examples like Test in Australia, when you laid the foundation of India’s first historic series win on Australian soil! Standing against one of the most powerful bowling, you showed what is the point of taking responsibility for the team.
PM Modi said, ‘I am sure that your father, who is a cricketer himself, is proud of you. Pooja and Aditi will be happy to spend more time with you. Beyond the field, your analysis as a commentator holds great importance to cricket lovers. I am confident that you will keep yourself connected to the game and inspire emerging cricketers. Best wishes for your further journey.
