India’s women’s cricket team defeated England by 97 runs in the first T20 match played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. England’s performance in this match was very poor. Neither could anyone do amazing in bowling nor did anyone go in batting, due to which he got a crushing defeat. Meanwhile, the England team has suffered another major setback. The International Cricket Council has sentenced all the players of the England team.
ICC took action against England
At the beginning of the match, England captain Net Civor-Brant won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, India scored a huge score of 210 runs after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. India’s star batsman Smriti Mandhana scored a brilliant century (112 runs), which was the first century of his T20 career. But during this time, England team could not throw 20 overs in the scheduled time and due to the slow over rate, the ICC has taken action against them.
The England team has suffered a fine of 10% match fees for slow over rate. The umpires found England guilty of throwing two overs low in the stipulated time, due to which the fine was imposed. Captain Net Civor-Bunt accepted the allegation. Let me tell you, according to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for players and players associate personnel, which is related to the minimum over speed offenses, the players are fined five percent of their match fees for each over for failing to bowl in the scheduled time.
