BCCI has shared a video on its official social media account in which Karun Nair is speaking, ‘It is a very special and big thing for me that I have got this opportunity. I have returned to Team India. I would like to hold this opportunity with both hands. In this video, KL Rahul said, ‘I have known Nair for a very long time and we have spent time with each other for many months. It was a very difficult time for him to return to the team.

Rahul further said, ‘We have all seen that when he was playing a county championship in England, he was quite alone. But he has made a brilliant comeback to the Indian team. This is quite special for them. This is a very special thing for his family members. He has friends like us who have seen his journey. I pray that whatever experience he has got from playing in county cricket, he must use it here.

Karun Nair has played six Test matches for Team India so far in which he has scored 374 runs at an average of 62. He is just the second Indian batsman to score a triple century in Test cricket. His highest individual score has been 303*. Karun Nair has scored 320 runs in three matches against England at an average of 160. He scored this triple century against England. This batsman played his last Test match against Australia in 2017 in Dharamshala.
